Adding to My List of Favs

New on DVD....

Law Abiding Citizen
Law Abiding Citizen
If you loved Inside Man (starring Denzel Washington), this is a movie you will also enjoy. This movie is non stop action from beginning to end. Never a dull moment. It stars Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler. Jamie Foxx is playing an attorney working towards becoming the new DA. Gerard Butler plays a man who has been screwed over by the justice system who decides to get his own justice after Jamie's character doesn't give him what he wants. Now I don't wanna give too much away because this movie is a ride better taken when you don't know where you're going.  Don't wanna spoil the surprises now do we? ;)

On TV This Week

Shows to Catch Up On
Again, in no particular order...I just like to number things...
1. The Deep End
This show is in its first season on ABC. I started watching it not knowing what it was or what it was about but it turned out to be a pretty interesting show. It is a drama about five first year lawyers at a prestigious law firm and their bosses. I watched it on abc.com and noticed a comment that said this show is unrealistic. Ofcourse its unrealistic; its not a freakin' reality show its a drama. I thought the show was funny, entertaining, and has some familiar faces: Nicole Ari Parker from Soul Food (HBO), Tina Majorino from Corrina, Corrina and Napolean Dynamite, and Billy Zane from Titanic. It airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC before Grey's Anatomy.

2. Bad Girls Club
I resisted watching this show for so long but I just couldn't help myself. Bad Girls Club is a "reality" show (although I don't know what reality they are showing) about seven bad girls living in a mansion together for no apparent reason. I haven't quite figured out the point of the show but I can't get enough of it. If you like watching girl drama then this is the show for you. Airs Tuesday nights at 10/9c on Oxygen.

3. Modern Family
Modern Family is a mockumentary comedy about a traditional family, a gay couple who have adopted a Vietnamese baby, and an old guy married to a younger Spanish women. All three of these families are also related to each other. I like the fact that this show is not as predictable as others and isn't full of sappy "Full House" moments. Its a change from the norm and thats why i like it. Airs Wednesday at 8/7c and 9/8c on ABC.

Valentine's Day

Going to be snowed in for Valentines Day?

Pick up a DVD...

The Ugly Truth
This movie is fantastic from beginning to end. Absolutely hilarious. It stars Knocked Up's Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler from the movie 300. Butler's character gives dating and relationship advice to Heigl's character, giving her insight into how men think and what they want in a women. From what I hear his advice is very true to life. So pay attention girls! This movie is perfect for V-day! Just look at the hearts on the movie poster...Haha.

The Ugly Truth (Widescreen Edition)

Not snowed in?

I'm jealous!

Opening in theaters...

Obviously this movie is about Valentine's Day. I don't know if this movie is gonna be any good; the trailers make it hard to tell. But what you can tell is that there are a lot of big names in this movie. The list includes Julia Roberts and her niece Emma Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Jamie Foxx, Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner (Team Jacob!), Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, and the list goes on for days and days and days... So even if the movie isn't that great at least you will see a couple faces you like. This movie opens Friday February 12th.

What's New on TV this Week?

In no particular order...
1. American Idol
Tomorrow night marks the first episode of American Idol featuring Ellen DeGeneres as a regular judge. She is replacing Paula Abdul this season as one of four judges. Also this is the first episode of Hollywood week! American Idol airs Tuesday night at 8/7c and Wednesday night at 9/8c on FOX.

2. LOST
The final season of LOST started last week. Catch the latest episode Tuesday night at 8/7c on ABC. "The answers are coming..." so you won't be so "lost" anymore!

3. Celebrity Fit Club
If you love the occasional celebrity reality show as I do check out Celebrity Fit Club. The new season starts this week featuring Bobby Brown, Kevin Federline, Shar Jackson, Sebastian Bach, and many others. I can't believe how big some of these people have become. Now I can't blame someone who has pushed at three kids like Shar for putting on weight but Kevin Federline no excuses for you son. Anyway, Celebrity Fit Club airs Monday at 9/8c on VH1 with plenty of repeat showings through out the week.

That's all the shows I'm featuring this week. Happy viewing!

Season 8Lost: The Complete Fifth Season

Angels but No Demons

The Movie Scene

In Theaters....
I do not go to the movie theater much because the prices are raping my wallet but when I do somehow end up there I will let you know what I saw and how it was. So here it goes....

Walking into this movie I really had no idea what it was about. No spoilers here so no worries. When the movie began I thought that it was gonna be a movie about the devil or something like that but it turned out there were only Angels and No Demons in this film. Basically the movie is about Angels who have been sent by God to kill the next "baby Jesus" because God has lost faith in mankind. Now the way the angels went about doing this was very interesting cause these angels were far from any angels I have ever heard of. They were cursing and dropping F bombs and saying things like "you're all gonna f**king burn." But once you get over that, the movie is actually very good. I would recommend it for the storyline and the scare factor (for the easily frightened). Here is a link to the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGE_zSdCzDU

On DVD...
There are no new DVDs coming out this week that I would recommend seeing so I am recommending an older one in keeping with today's theme...
Buy this movie from Amazon.com:

The theme of this movie is very similar to its predecessor The Da Vinci Code but in my opinion this one is more interesting. It takes place in Vatican City where the Pope has just died. The 4 candidates up to become the next Pope have been kidnapped and Tom Hank's character is called in to help find them. It appears that the Illuminati is to blame. This movie has plenty of action, suspense, and mystery. Sorry no real angels or demons in this movie either.

Movie to miss...
I'm the type of person who hates to waste my time so I'm here to make sure you don't waste two hours of your life (or your money) on a horrible movie. This week the biggest waste of your time would be spent watching Jennifer's Body. I have to say after seeing this movie I wanted that hour and a half of my life back. Although the concept of the movie seemed interesting and the acting wasn't bad either but something was noticeably missing. I'm  going to blame the director and the script writers. Sorry to tell you this but you suck at life. Moving on...
